What is DRINK JUICE CO. shelf life for juices, and do they need to remain refrigerated?
Yes, all of our juices are raw, which means they contain live enzymes making them highly nutritious but also highly perishable, once you are finished with your juice, wash your bottle and reuse it for water or bring it back for our bottle program.
What does cold pressed juice mean?

Cold pressing is a method of juicing that allows us to extract the nutrient filled juice from each vegetable and fruit through a hydraulic pressing method to ensure no heat, or oxygen damages the beneficial enzymes, vitamins and minerals our food has to offer. The result gives us a fresh nutrient rich, live juice, with amazing flavor and colour.

Why don’t you use a different juicing Method?

We’ve chosen to use the cold press method because it does not affect the integrity of the enzymes, vitamins and minerals from our organic vegetables and fruits. This allows you to absorb the health benefits our food has to offer.

Centrifugal juicing is done by putting food through a fast blade and separating the pulp and juice through mesh, the process is faster, which allows you to custom make a juice in seconds- but it adds heat and oxygen to our vegetables and fruit, damaging the enzyme, mineral and vitamin content

We pre bottle our nutrient dense juices so we can be a fast stop for a health break that you can enjoy all day.

What’s with the price?

I know our prices may seem high compared to a juice at a grocery store, but we’re not here to pull wool over your eyes. The reason being is everything on our menu is 100% organic, prepared in house by our passionate nutritionists, bottled in glass bottles and we never use pasteurized or high pressured processing to extend the shelf-life – the only thing in our bottles is a nutrient dense juice to feed your body.

Are your juices 100% organic?

Yes. We only use produce that is grown GMO free, without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.

What do you mean when you say No HPP, or Unpasteurized juice?

All of our juiced are raw, meaning they haven’t been treated with pressure, heat or added chemicals or fillers.

Pascalization or High Pressure Pasteurization during the HPP process, packaged ready-to-eat foods are loaded into a cylinder in a flexible container (pouch or plastic bottle) which is then loaded into a high-pressure chamber. This chamber is then filled with water. The chamber is pressurized via pumps employing isostatic pressure that is transmitted through the package into the food itself. Because this pressure is instantaneously and uniformly applied, it is not controlled by product size and is effective throughout the entire piece of food. Therefore pathogenic microorganisms are denatured both at the surface level of the food as well as the interior.

This process allows users to have their product on the shelf of 3 weeks longer- companies that want to distribute worldwide are most likely to use this process.

Drink Juice is a local company, our main focus is to serve our local community in Toronto and GTA- We pride ourselves on the good nature of our product- this is why we stay raw.

Pasteurization is when juice is heated at a very high temperature and then cooled down- the reason behind HPP is to kill a potential harmful bacteria and to slow the growth of the microbial that cause food to go bad, which allows for a longer shelf life. This process kills the nutrients and enzymes we’ve worked so hard to extract from our fruits and vegetables- I’m sure you can guess why we don’t want to pasteurize our juices- We’re here to be fresh and healthy.

How long do your juices last, and do they need to be refrigerated?

Our juices and nut milks last for about 3-days, our coconut, chia and aloe waters last about 7 days and our shots last anywhere from 3-7 days, but always check the sticker on the bottle to ensure you are consuming your juice before the expired date. If you are not drinking our juices right away, they must be kept in the refrigerator, we strongly recommend drinking them as soon as possible.
